in Norway maple, the color is more reddish white. The sapwood & heartwood therefore do not differ from each other in color, or hardly at all.
The annual rings are clearly visible, & the irregularly arranged pores & often the medullary rays are clearly visible as spots or stripes between the annual rings. Your personal engraving: Board: Text max.
2 lines of 15 characters each (including spaces, no special characters, no emoji) no motif Engraving of the back is possible for an additional charge Caring for your breakfast board It is often sufficient to wipe the breakfast boards with a damp cloth without detergent or to rinse them under running water. Care should be taken to always moisten the front & back so that no tension occurs during drying.
For this reason, the boards should be placed upright for drying so that air can circulate freely around the board. Please never leave the breakfast boards in standing water or clean them in the dishwasher! Re-oiling your breakfast boards Oiled wooden surfaces must be treated regularly.
An oiled surface wears down over time due to mechanical & physical stress. Especially in the beginning, the wood can only be saturated by regular re-oiling.
The maintenance effort is therefore higher for an oiled breakfast board than for varnished surfaces, but decreases over time. Depending on the use of the breakfast board, we recommend that you oil the wood 4-6 times in the first year & at least 4 times in the second year.
From the third year onwards, refreshing the top layer every six months should be sufficient. The surface only gains its long-term protection through continuous care.
To re-oil, put some rapeseed oil on a cloth & rub it evenly over the surface in the direction of the grain. Allow the oil to soak in for about 10 minutes & then polish the surface thoroughly with a dry, lint-free cloth.
After another quarter of an hour, check the surface for greasy spots & touch them up again with the cloth if necessary. The re-oiled surface should not get wet for the next 24 hours so that the fresh oil can harden.
After applying the oil, pull the cloth evenly over the oiled surface in the direction of the grain to remove any excess. Leave the oil to work overnight & polish it briefly the following day.
